Traditional French Summer

Le Grand Bornand is a well established summer holiday destination for those looking for a change from the vast impersonal concrete jungles found elsewhere in Europe.
Based around a real Alpine village where traditional farming is alive and well you can sample fresh dairy products from the farms scattered around the mountains.

Take a walk in the alpine meadows on well marked footpaths and see the cows roaming the high mountain pasture.
Le Grand Bornand is the birthplace of Reblochon, one of France's famous Apellation Controlee cheeses, delightful washed down with some local Savoie white wine at home or in one of the many chalets that offer simple meals and snacks.

In the village a full range of activities are available. You can rent equipment for mountain biking and walking or take some lessons in paragliding. Relax by the heated open air pool complex or enjoy the many organised activities.
Children are very well catered for with lots of activities and clubs organised by the tourist office.
At the end of August the Bonheur des Momes children's festival takes place with entertainment from all over the world and extensive participation from all the youngsters around.
